The summer I graduated I got to perform with Wildworks Theatre on their outdoor production of 100:UnEarth based on the story of Orphius and Eyrudice Greek mythology. The storyline was based on Orphius following Eyrudice into the underworld to save her, encountering Hades and Persephone finally making a deal that she will spend half the year in the underworld and the other half on Earth.
This was a moving site piece in which the audience followed the cast around the site of The Heligan Gardens in Cornwall. A mix of professionals and community members such as the local choir got involved with the making and taking part of this success of a production. Myself and a few other graduates/ third year Falmouth University students played Angels in the piece, we were part of every single scene as dancers. Our role was to take the audience from one site to the other through movement and characterisation. As angels we were dressed as bodyguards, my favourite scene in particular was helping Hades with the autopsy scene.
This was my first experience working alongside professionals to give me an understanding of how productions are made. The general feel was very surrportive and creative, there was a really large cast with musicians, actors, stage managers, costume designers, directors and community members.
