Northern School of Contemporary Dance Summer Intensive.

A week long intensive with professional performers and choreographers such as Toby Fitzgibbons, Anna Watkins and Anna Nowak (as a few examples). Led morning classes and each age group were assigned a teacher who created a piece on us we then performed on the final day with an audience. I had the pleasure of working with Toby Fitzgibbons. Toby was a company dancer at Scottish Dance Theatre and has worked with companies such as balletLORENT.

Every afternoon for a week, creating a piece based around the search for something better in life. During rehearsals, working on choreographic creative processes we played with contact improvisation, lifts, choreography based on poems and musicality.

During this intensive I met a lot of aspiring performers from all over the world, the performer- choreographer relationship was very open. Toby allowed us to have our own freedom with movement alongside his set material, meaning we had room for play. The music chosen helped this influence.
